HERO10 GPS

Is the new GoPro HERO10 better than the HERO9 for GPS work? How does it compare to the Insta360 or a Garmin watch?. Find out in this review.

Conclusions:

  • The 10 performs exactly as the 9 in terms of GPS, but while the firmware of the 9 at launch had severe GPS issues, the 10 works as expected
  • Results are very good under optimal conditions (clear sky, camera in normal position...), but unreliable in medium/poor conditions (upside down, close to obstacles...)
  • Having a backup GPS data source is recommended if you absolutely need the GPS data
